Teens collect donations for local shelter
Fourteen-year-old Elyse Burwell enlisted her friends to procide help for the Currituck Animal Shelter. The Animal Lovers Assistance League ALAL, a non-profit organization that operates the shelter, received gifts of pet food, toys, treats, kitty litter, and money for the shelter animals after Elyse and members of a local teen conservation group visited 425 homes distributing information and collecting donations from other concerned citizens.
Elyse Burwell presents Assistant Shelter Manager Becky Beasley the mound of pet food, toys, money, and treats that were donated by residents of Eagle Creek. Shelter mascot Jezebel joined them for the photo! To make donations to the shelter, please call 252-232-3696
